Making LibGuides

How To Make Good Research Guides

Guide Overview

This is an internal guide on making Research Guides for the Pratt Institute Libraries. While it specifically targets how to make library-related content, there are links and resources that may be useful for other contexts as well.

Know your users

People have short attention spans on the internet. Contrary to our best intuitions, users prefer to scan webpages instead of "reading" them. (See the infamous F-shaped pattern ) We need to understand and take advantage of this pattern to write more effective content for our library patrons.

This guide will show you the way! Use the navigation bar on the left to get started.
