Switch & Switch Lite
Released by Nintendo in March 2017, the Switch works as a handheld console or connects to a monitor via HDMI cable and charging dock. The Switch Lite is a handheld-only version of the console released in September 2019.
Students can borrow a Switch or Switch Lite through the Equipment Loan Office, located on the lower level. The library also has a collection of circulating Switch games which can be browsed below.
Wii
The Nintendo Wii was released in 2006, and is part of the seventh generation of video game consoles, alongside the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Students can borrow a Wii from the library's Equipment Loan Office, and can browse the library's collection of circulating Wii games below.
SNES Classic Edition
The original Super Nintendo Entertainment System — commonly shortened to Super Nintendo, Super NES or SNES — is a 16-bit home video game console released in Japan in 1990 and then in North America the following year. In 2017, Nintendo brought out the SNES Classic Edition, a plug-and-play emulator loaded with 21 SNES games.
The games below come preloaded on the SNES Classic Edition which you can borrow from the Equipment Loan Office, located on the lower level of the library.
NES Classic Edition
The Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) is an 8-bit, third-generation video game console produced by Nintendo. First released in Japan in 1983 as the Family Computer (commonly referred to as Famicom), it was released as the NES in the North American market in 1985.
In 2016, Nintendo released the NES Classic Edition, a plug-and-play emulator of the original system. The Classic Edition can be borrowed from the library's Equipment Loan Office, and comes preloaded with the games below.
