I'm Hannah Fountain (she/her), the UX and Web Services Librarian here at Pratt Institute Libraries. I currently serve as the liaison librarian to Communications Design, and I am so excited to work with you! Below, you'll find a curated selection of library services and resources, updated on a semester basis.
Use this page as a cheatsheet for library resources and services, and don’t hesitate to email me with questions or ideas.
I am responsible for purchasing books of interest to the Communications Design learning community and welcome your requests!
Anyone can submit a request, so feel free to share our form with your students.
Additionally, should you have a new textbook or required film for your course that isn’t in our collections, feel free to email me directly.
I am available to provide synchronous custom-designed library instruction sessions over Zoom or in-person. Past Communications Design sessions include library orientations, introduction to research resources and services, and guided explorations of our zine and artists' books collections.
If you are interested in scheduling a library instruction session, please fill out our Instruction Request Form.
I am also available for one-on-one research support sessions. Please refer your students to my Book-A-Librarian page for support session scheduling.
We offer print reserves and expanded scanning services to help ensure access to essential materials.
Questions about course reserves? Email resvbkln@pratt.edu.
PDF scanning services aren’t limited to course reserve requests! Scanning requests can be made by clicking on the "Request a PDF Scan" button in our catalog.
For more information about the Request a PDF service and copyright compliance policies, see the Scanning Services page.
As of the Fall 2024 semester, ConnectNY, a resource-sharing consortium Pratt participated in, has dissolved.
Pratt Institute Libraries still offers robust interlibrary loan services. We are able to acquire books, articles, and book chapters for your teaching and research needs! Please place requests using our ILL request form.
We offer an external tool for Canvas that allows you to search for and add library resources directly to course modules. See our brief video tutorial for a quick overview.
I’m also available to join your LMS (Canvas) to provide reference assistance, share resources, and be available for one-on-one research appointments over Zoom. If you’d like to add me to Canvas, please send me an invite.
