Remote Learning Updates

Classes at Pratt are moving online. The Libraries have prepared remote learning updates & resources below.

Contact-free Pickup

We now offer scheduled, contact-free pickup of Books & DVDs at both the Brooklyn and PMC libraries. Appointments for pickup are available 10am-4pm, Monday - Friday. Contact-free equipment pickup appointments are also available at Brooklyn. Patrons must adhere to Pratt's campus access procedure.

Requesting Items

To request items for pickup, search our online catalog and click on the "Request for Pickup" buttons. After you've requested the materials, here's what happens next...

 

We'll package it

Library staff will verify that the item is available and package it with any other items you requested for pickup.

You'll pick a time

When it's ready, you'll get an email to your @pratt.edu address with the subject, "Circulation Notice from Pratt Libraries." Important! This email has a link for you to schedule your pickup appointment time.

Swing by the library!

Once approved by library staff, you will receive another email confirming your pickup time! Please note that you must adhere to campus access requirements before coming on campus.

Where should I go to pick up?

The email notice you received indicates the pickup location. The email subject will be "Circulation Notice from Pratt Libraries."

How long does the pickup process take?

Once approved, the pickup appointment can take as little as a few minutes. Please show up to the library at the beginning of your appointment reservation. Be sure to wear a mask, stand six feet apart, and observe Pratt's Campus Access Checklist.

 

How do I return the item when I'm done?

Books & DVDs
You can return your books to the book drop in front of the library in Brooklyn, or in front of the 4th floor library at PMC. If you are in the city but not able to come onto campus, you can return your books to the public safety officer at the 200 Willoughby entrance to the Brooklyn campus, or at the entrance desk at PMC. Or you can mail them to us at the following address. The "media mail" rate at the US Post Office, will probably be your least expensive option!

Equipment

Equipment returns must be scheduled in advance and delivered in person. Please schedule a time to return your equipment before or on the due date. Return Equipment

 

Can I reschedule my pickup later?

You will receive an email confirming your appointment time. This email will contain a link to cancel your appointment if needed. From there, you can schedule another pickup time from the link in your initial email notice, email subject: "Circulation Notice from Pratt Libraries." If you want to cancel a hold on an item, please reach out to us at libref@pratt.edu.

 

How many Items can I pick up at a time?

You can pickup as many items as you have requested and are confirmed available for pickup. Feel free to request several items on our catalog and wait to receive email confirmations that they are all available. Then click the link in the email notification and select one pickup time.
