Remote Learning Updates

Classes at Pratt are moving online. The Libraries have prepared remote learning updates & resources below.

Library Pickup

In order to maintain social distancing, our stacks are closed. However, you can request Books and DVDs for pickup. Once your item is ready, you can swing by the library any time during our opening hours to pick it up. No appointments necessary! Equipment is also available to borrow without appointments. Feel free to visit the Equipment Loan Office on the lower level anytime during opening hours to select and borrow equipment.

Requesting Items for Pickup

Search our catalog, find the desired item, and click on the “Request for Pickup” button.  Please allow 1-2 business days for book & DVD processing. You will receive an email when your item is ready for pickup. (subject line:  Your Library Pickup Request.)  

Please note: For equipment, patrons may call the Equipment Loan Office at 718-636-3626 to make a reservation in advance. Patrons must adhere to Pratt's campus access checklist.

Where should I go to pick up?

The email notice you received indicates the pickup location. The email subject will be "Circulation Notice from Pratt Libraries."

How do I return the item when I'm done?

Books & DVDs
You can return your books to the book drop in front of the library in Brooklyn, or in front of the 4th floor library at PMC. If you are in the city but not able to come onto campus, you can return your books to the public safety officer at the 200 Willoughby entrance to the Brooklyn campus, or at the entrance desk at PMC. Or you can mail them to us at the following address. The "media mail" rate at the US Post Office, will probably be your least expensive option!

How many Items can I pick up at a time?

You can pickup as many items as you have requested and are confirmed available for pickup. Feel free to request several items on our catalog and wait to receive email confirmations that they are all available.

Can I visit to browse the collections/stacks?

In order to maintain social distancing, our stacks are closed. However, you can request as many items as you need for pickup. Once you receive a notification that your items are available, you can visit the library any time during opening hours for pickup.
