Initial steps

Design focus groups and/or surveys to learn about current OE and OER work happening at Pratt. Departments with known projects include History of Art & Design, Social Science & Critical Studies, and Interior Design. As conversations occur more will be revealed. Early adopters can be use cases, learning what is already happening at Pratt, can help dissolve silos, will help with planning. Timeline: Fall 2023

  1. Survey and follow up interviews to find out who is already incorporating OE and OER into their courses.

Education

Educate & support for faculty interested in OER adaption, adoption & creation. Provide stipends for p/t faculty, course release for f/t faculty. Developed and deployed with the Center for Teaching & Learning and Libraries. Spring 2024-Fall 2024, continuing

  1. Semester long models can be found in past programming including: Participatory Education Deep Dive and the faculty learning communities Internal funding opportunities exist through the Academic Senate, STEAMplant, and Provost’s Office. Consider creating specific internal grants to support OER adaption and OE curricular development.

  2. Develop and expand existing Library authored research guides and instructional videos such as those on OER, OA, and copyright.
