Pratt Emerging Museum Professionals

From the PEMP group page:

Pratt EMP serves as a resource for graduate students in the Pratt Institute School of Information to engage with other museum professionals across all stages of their careers. As a registered chapter of the Emerging Museum Professionals Network, an aims to build a community in which graduate students interested in a career in the museum sector can make professional connections within and across backgrounds, disciplines, by providing leadership, responding to changing industry needs, growing job-oriented capabilities, sharing resources, advocating for the museum profession, and connecting groups on a local and national level. Pratt EMP's activities will consist of hosting professional development workshops aimed at building industry-specific technical skills, guest lectures by current museum employees, networking events with other local EMP chapters, and museum site visits. Our goal is to provide students with the opportunity to gain insights from professionals in the field, with a particular aim to see how the digital skills and techniques taught at Pratt are being applied in museums today. This programming will also serve to connect students with specific individuals in the field as points of contact and informational resources going forward.
