While it is generally best practice to read theory via peer-reviewed sources, popular news outlets are a tremendous resource for keeping up-to-date on museum happenings, especially regarding the current push calling museums to question and be open about their problematic practices.

- “The State of DEAI (Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, Inclusion) Practices in Museums" by Cecilia Garibay and Jeanne Marie OlsonThis study, published in 2020 by the Cultural Competence Learning Institute (CCLI), investigates the current state of diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion (DEAI) practices in the museum field in the U.S. It is the first field-wide study across multiple sectors of its kind. As such, it is also an experiment. The authors consider this study and early effort to map the landscape.
