Electronic Resource Updates

E-Resource Updates: Summer 2024

Pratt Institute Libraries is pleased to share news about recent additions to the growing collection of available electronic resources :

• The Atlantic Site License
• DSM-5 Digital Library 

The Libraries will also continue several Evidence-Based Acquisition (EBA) programs in an effort to expand its collection development plan. An EBA is a hybrid subscription and purchasing model for ebooks or streaming videos, enabling access to large, multi-disciplinary collections at a low cost per title.  The Libraries can use usage data from these programs to help inform decisions about which items to add to the library's permanent collection, creating a more direct link between use of the collection and our purchasing decisions. Here's a few vendors we are currently collaborating with to support EBA programs:

• Docuseek (streaming)
• Kanopy (streaming)
• Taylor and Francis (ebooks)

Supporting Open Access publishing through funding remains a major priority for the Pratt Libraries.  We continued to honor this commitment last Spring by contributing to the following initiatives: 

• The Open Research Library
• Open Syllabus Analytics 

These decisions were based on a thorough evaluation and adhere to the Libraries' Collection Development Policy.  If you have suggestions for adding new resources to the collection please fill out our "Material Request Form" or reach out to eresources.library@pratt.edu.
