New York Times

A guide to registering for and using nytimes.com through the Pratt Institute Libraries

Creating your NYTimes account

Setting up your account is easy! All you need to do is use a valid @pratt.edu email address when creating your account via the button below.

Sign up for NYTimes Account

Once you've signed up, you can navigate directly to nytimes.com from any web-enabled device (or download the app) and use your new NYT account to log in.  You won't need go through our database link again (except once annually to renew your account).

To re-activate, follow the "Already have an account?" prompt. Please be advised that all Pratt patrons will need to re-activate annually to keep using this subscription.

Already have a personal (paid) account with your pratt.edu email?

An email address may only be associated with one (paid) subscription at a time. As such, if a patron has an existing NYT (paid) account with a @pratt.edu email, they will need to cancel it first, before it can be associated with the Pratt Institute Libraries Site License. To cancel your subscription please contact NYT customer care:

Please note that canceling your account may result in the loss of saved articles, newsletters, or personalized account settings.

Once canceled, that will "free up" the @pratt.edu email and you can proceed with creating a new account at this page: Create an NYTimes Account.

*Please be advised that canceling a subscription only becomes effective at the end of your billing cycle.  For more information about this policy please visit the NYT terms of sale for digital products.

For additional support please email us at eresources.library@pratt.edu

Did your access expire?

You can re-activate your account here. To re-activate, follow the "already have an account prompt."

Students  have access until they graduate, but will have to re-activate their accounts annually.  Faculty and staff must renew their accounts every 4 years.
