International Students: A Guide to Using Pratt Libraries

The mission of the Office of International Affairs (OIA) at Pratt is to welcome, advocate for and serve our international community by providing high quality and expert service. OIA offers specific resources for new students, current students, returning students, and exchange students.

For international students, navigating career development can present additional challenges. The CCPD recognizes this, and is committed to developing programs and resources that support Pratt’s international students’ in achieving their professional goals. The CCPD regularly partners with the Office of International Affairs (OIA) to bring information resources addressing international student’s particular needs.

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion works with partners across the Institution to create an equitable and inclusive environment at Pratt. Email diversity@pratt.edu with any questions, comments, or concerns about diversity, equity, and inclusion at Pratt.

The Student Affairs Division is responsible for supporting students in crisis, resolving student concerns, including human rights complaints and adjudicating reports of violations of Pratt policies and procedures.

The Intensive English Program (IEP) provides academic English language instruction to matriculated graduate and undergraduate students. The curriculum includes art, design, and architecture content and is enhanced by direct exposure to related cultural experiences and language-learning technology.

Confidential counseling services are available to all enrolled Pratt students. All services are provided by licensed mental health professionals including psychologists and clinical social workers. Pratt also uses a psychiatric nurse-practitioner to provide further evaluation for psychotropic medications when needed.

Information about employment eligibility and how to apply for campus jobs at Pratt. International students are immediately eligible for on-campus jobs once their SEVIS record is activated.

The Learning/Access Center (formerly Disability Resource Center) provides comprehensive academic support services that are available to all Pratt students.
