As of August 5, 2025, Discovery Search has a new user interface. Our discovery interface vendor, EBSCO, has created a Quick Start Guide for the new interface, with detailed articles on topics like basic search, advanced search, applying filters and facets, and translation capabilities.
Discovery Search features and functionality remain largely the same, but there are a few updates to be aware of! This page will be updated on an ongoing basis to inform users of changes or modifications.
Need Discovery Search support? Contact Hannah Fountain-Pileggi (hfounta8@pratt.edu), or use our Report a Problem form.
Facets and filters no longer appear in a persistent left-hand sidebar menu.
Instead, you’ll click All Filters to access facets and filters from a pop-out menu on the right side of your screen.
The 23-second YouTube video embedded below demonstrates how to access and apply filters and facets.
A new persistent left-hand sidebar menu contains links to additional resources and features.
Here, you'll find links to initiate a New Search, search and browse the Libraries' subscriptions of Journals, and access the Resource Hub. The Help link directs you to support documentation provided by EBSCO, our Discovery Search provider.
For more information on the Resource Hub, a new feature, continue to the next section of this page.
This submenu contains key links to key pages on the Libraries' website, including our website homepage, Research Guides, as well as our services and collections pages.
The Resource Hub functions as a link directory, pointing users to valuable library web resources and databases. Pratt Institute Libraries staff can propose additional resources by contacting Hannah Fountain-Pileggi (hfounta8@pratt.edu).
This short YouTube video shows how to access the Resource Hub from Discovery Search and will familiarize you with its appearance:
