Welcome to the Pratt Institute Libraries' National Poetry Month guide! National Poetry Month is a celebration of poetry that takes place every April. First founded by the Academy of American Poets in 1996, National Poetry Month uplifts poetic voices and reminds us all of just how powerful poetry can be. It's the largest literary celebration in the world, bringing together people from all walks of life through a love of poetry.
In April, we look to celebrate poets and poetry of all backgrounds and to explore the vast contributions that poetry had made to the literary world through language, expression and emotion. To achieve this, we have curated lists of eBooks, print books, streaming videos, a look at Pratt poets and virtual resources and events. We hope you enjoy exploring this guide!
