Pratt Institute's campus in Brooklyn sits on the ancestral homeland of the Lenape, Lenapehoking. In November 2021, Pratt Institute announced its Living Land Acknowledgment.

The Lenape peoples who survived the devastation of European colonialism were forced to migrate west, where they renamed themselves the Delaware Nation, after the European name given to the river along which many of their ancestors originally resided. Currently, there are federally recognized Lenape nations in Oklahoma and Wisconsin, as well as First Nations in Ontario, Canada.

The Lenape Center
Since 2009, Lenape Center based in Manhattan and led by Lenape elders has created programs, exhibitions, workshops, performances, symposia, land acknowledgment, and ceremonies to continue our Lenape presence. We push back against our erasure and seed the ground with Lenape consciousness for the next generations.
Lenape Talking Dictionary
An online learning tool designed to support Lenape language education through its expansive dictionary and language lessons. Its primary function is translating words, sentences, and phrases from English to Lenape or vice versa. Each Lenape item in the search results includes an audio clip of a speaker of Lenape saying the item. In addition to over 17,000 words in the dictionary, the site also includes stories, usage examples, photos, and historical examples.
Museum of Indian Culture
The Museum of Indian Culture, founded in 1980 as the Lenni Lenape Historical Society/Museum of Indian Culture, is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to presenting, preserving, and perpetuating the history and cultural heritage of the Northeastern Woodland Indians and other American Indian tribes.
