If you need to make a presentation to share the content of your screen, there are several options and resources available to you.
Screen capture/Recording Tools
Mac
Quicktime screen recording - This is perhaps the simplest tool to use to share a presentation or a video of the contents of your screen.
Windows
ShareX - this is a free open source software for screen recording. You can record part of the screen or the entire Desktop, along with audio from your microphone. All screen captures are saved automatically in the Documents folder (C:\Users\Username\Documents\ShareX). ShareX supports uploading captures to multiple locations, including Dropbox, FTP servers, Google Drive, and many others.
Video Editing Tools
Mac and Windows
Adobe Premiere Pro - A professional video editing software, a part of Adobe Creative Cloud collection. Full-time students and faculty members have free access to Adobe CC. Adobe provides tutorials for many aspects of using Premiere Pro. (Information on how to download Adobe applications using your Pratt credentials can be found on the Pratt Intranet).
Windows
Video Editor - a simple-to-use application built-in into Windows 10. It allows basic video editing like trimming video streams, creating slideshows, adding text, 3D effects, and applying music.
Uploading and Sharing Video
Youtube - the most widely used online video sharing platform, Youtube allows uploading large files and offers unlimited storage. When uploading a file, Youtube will compress it so the resulting quality will be less than that of the original video.
Vimeo - while less popular than Youtube, Vimeo offers some extra features like password protection. It is possible to set a password on any video, and share it with non-Vimeo members.
