Finding Images

Searching in Artstor can be done in a number of ways:

Keyword Search - Simplest and most popular form of search.  Just enter a term from any location in Artstor.  You may want to limit your search using filters or faceted search.

Advanced Search - This search allows you to perform Boolean Searches on multiple terms and limit your searches to the Creator or Title fields.  You can also limit your search by Geography, Date, or Classification.

Browsing Artstor by Geography, Classification, or Collection - Browsing allows you to find images in Artstor based on broad categories.

Finding Folders and Image Groups - Locate specialized groupings of images that have been created by Pratt faculty and for some Pratt Departments and survey courses.

Using Artstor Mobile - Artstor is accessible to registered users and users who are on-site at their licensed institution on compatible mobile operating systems. The mobile site for Apple devices and mobile app for Android devices allows users to search, browse, and view previously created image groups.

Using the Image Viewer

Once you have performed a search, you will come to a thumbnail page of images.  By double-clicking any thumbnail, you will launch the Image Viewer.

From the image viewer you can:

- Zoom, Pan, and Rotate an Image

- View Data

- Print an Image (or a detail)

- Download an Image (or a detail)

- Add a detail of an image to an image group

To get the most out of the Image Viewer, check out Artstor's recent Did You Know Blog Post.

Downloading Images

Anyone may download an image or a detail from the Image Viewer window.  Users will be prompted to access Artstor's Terms and Conditions of Use, and images will download at a resolution of approximately 1,000 pixels on the long side, which is the same width as a PowerPoint slide.
